It’s the Major League Baseball playoffs! Mercifully, MLB let the White Sox stop playing three games early, so that just goes down as an automatic sweep by the Padres. And the Mariners kept it interesting for two games before dying in game three behind a poor Luis Castillo performance at an inopportune time, then Jerry Dipoto said “we have a long term plan to win 54 percent of our games over a 10 year period” and well that’s just dumb and sad, but not as dumb or sad as the White Sox. Every team I’ve wanted to win in the Wild Card series’ have been swept (Phillies up on the Marlins 7-0 in the 9th as I write this, so the statement will probably remain true).
